Soundarya Rajinikanth to wed on September 3 Soundarya Rajinikanth, younger daughter of actor Rajinikanth will marry Ashwin Ramkumar, a Chennai based industrialist, on September 3rd at the Raja Muthiah Hall, Chennai. The couple were engaged on February 17th this year. Soundarya Rajinikanth, who owns Ocher Studios, produced her first movie Goa which was released this year. The movie revolves around Arya, a fun-loving guy, and his relationship with Santhanam and Nayantara. The music launch will take place at Sathyam Cinemas on 27 August, 2010. Genelia-Karthi in Tamil-Telugu film Reigning queen bee Genelia will be the heroine opposite popular Tamil actor Karthi (widely known in Tollywood for his dubbed Tamil films Aayirathil Oruvan and Paiyaa) in his first straight Telugu movie, directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar and produced by B.V.S.N. Prasad, better known as ‘Chatrapathi' Prasad. After Bommarillu and the ongoing Orange, this is the third time Genelia is teaming up with director Bommarillu Bhaskar. This untitled movie will be made in Telugu and Tamil. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music. The shooting will commence once Bommarillu Bhaskar completes work on Ram Charan Teja's Orange.

Chennai Live's Band Hunt Chennai Live 104.8 FM has announced the launch of ‘Band Hunt', the first reality- format, music talent search conducted completely on radio. The Chennai Live Band Hunt van has been visiting many colleges as well as corporates. Within a week of its launch, Band Hunt has attracted 20 registrations from top notch city colleges. Aspiring rock music groups/bands (no solo acts) can register via SMS, online (see link below), at kiosks in malls or in person at the Studio apart from the vans visiting colleges and corporate houses. 15 bands selected from the auditions will compete for the prize money of Rs. 10,00,000. Besides, they will get an opportunity to perform live at various prominent venues in the city, plus cut their own music album in association with Chennai Live 104.8 FM! The grand finale mega event, to be held on Sept 19, 2010, will be covered on radio. Live SMS voting by listeners will help decide the winners. The last date to send in entries is August 29. Mohanlal's next Bollywood flick After making a sensational debut with Kala Paani, followed by Ram Gopal Varma's Company, followed by Ram Gopal Varma ki Aag, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is getting ready for his next Bollywood film. This time, the talented actor joins hands with his intimate friend director Priyadarshan to don a meaty role in the tentatively titled multi-starrer Bullet Train, featuring Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Kunal Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut and Sameera Reddy. Moahanlal will play the role of an investigative cop in Bullet Train, Priyadarshan told media during his visit to a Mumbai five star hotel, where Mohanlal had his traditional ‘Onam Sadya' on Thiruonam day. Mohanlal was in Mumbai for the shooting of Kandahar. 'I have done 36 films with Mohanlal in Malayalam and I consider him one of the finest actors in contemporary world cinema. He will be playing the role of an investigative British police officer of Indian origin who specializes in terrorism-related issues. I think Mohanlal is a complete actor and suits my script,' Priyadarshan said.

Prakashraj weds Pony Verma National award winning actor, producer and director Prakashraj was married to Bollywood choreographer Pony Verma in a gala affair in Mumbai on August 24. The wedding ceremony was held according to Hindu tradition in Punjabi style and it was attended by family members and close friends, including Prakashraj's mother, two daughters, sister and her family, and his close associates, directors Radhamohan and Viji, actor Kumaravel, cinematographer K.V. Guhan and Tanya Samthani. The couple will host a reception for their close friends from Bollywood and Kollywood tonight at Sahara Star hotel, near the Mumbai airport.

Injured Sameera completes bike stunt Actress Sameera Reddy is busy shooting for Bullet Train with director Priyadarshan. The movie is an action thriller and involves lots of action scenes. Sameera Reddy's character was to ride a motorcycle through a rough terrain; she insisted she do the stunt herself without using a body double. Half way through the stunt, Sameera slipped and fell off the motorycycle, injuring her neck. Though Sameera was hospitalised, she was adamant she would complete what she started and came back to finish the stunt herself.
